Labor Day ≠ Memorial Day ≠ Veterans Day. Labor Day weekend is a time to remember and celebrate the Labor Movement.
Here’s to the folks who organized, went on strike, and committed to bringing you things like the weekend, the possibility of a 40-hour work week, lunch breaks, sick leave, social security, 8-hour work day, overtime pay, child labor laws, workplace safety standards, and workers’ comp.
And here’s to the folks who continue this movement today, despite the political forces working around the clock to attack unions, collective bargaining rights, and worker protections.
